“The Monster Among Men” Meets His Match: How Devon Larratt Humbled WWE’s Braun Strowman

Even the massive presence of a WWE superstar wasn’t enough to rattle Devon Larratt. While the Canadian armwrestling icon is currently gearing up for a monumental clash against Vitaly Laletin at East vs West 23 in Cologne this April, he recently looked back on a time he humbled one of professional wrestling’s biggest giants.

The Clash of Titans

In 2021, the man known as Braun Strowman—a 6’8”, 385-pound powerhouse dubbed “The Monster Among Men”—stepped up to the table with total confidence. However, he quickly realized that raw size is no substitute for elite technique.

Despite Strowman’s immense strength, Larratt (famed as much for his “No Limits” attitude as his love for pancakes and syrup) remained completely unfazed. As the WWE star poured every ounce of his power into the pull, Larratt simply grinned, playing with his opponent before effortlessly pinning him to the pad.

Chaos at the Table

The defeat didn’t sit well with the former WWE World Champion. The loss sparked an immediate flash of temper, leading to a tense confrontation where the two giants traded shoves while bystanders scrambled to keep the peace.

Potential for Greatness?

Despite the heated exchange, Larratt spoke highly of Strowman’s raw abilities in a recent conversation with Sporf. Reflecting on their encounter at the Olympia convention in Florida, Larratt noted:

“Braun is an incredibly massive, powerful human being. Even though we had a bit of a dust-up, you can see his potential immediately. If he actually dedicated himself to specific armwrestling training, there is no doubt he could become a legitimate champion. It was a blast getting to show a guy of his caliber how the sport really works.”
